Summer is Here!

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008, 11:23 am

This is my version of an idea from Stampin Up for July. Some is digitally generated, some stamped and some hand embellished.  $ store metal frames grunged up with some white acrylic paint finished it up.    It's been a busy June and July isn't looking any less busy!  We have two kiddos moving and one of them getting married.  We really are becoming empty nesters!   I've embarked on a new adventure - and it is proving to be a challenge, though an exciting one!  There's an e-book in the near future and I'm looking forward to getting those thoughts organized and put into their final digital form.  The NHA perpetual calendar is also taking form, thanks to a sweet friend who is keeping track of those daily quotes and images.  A few new images are in the offing and a few of my Mother's original paintings will also be included in the desk size flip calendar.  June and July card gatherings are filled to capacity and I'm really thrilled that the virtual realm is working for one gal living too far out to join us here.  June brought 6 new women to the cardmaking Saturdays - one happens to be the gf of one of our ds.  She made at least a dozen cards before she left here for her home last week after a 2 week visit here. It's been a busy morning for phone calls and the day's agenda has taken a couple of twists and turns already.  Hope you have a day filled with GREATNESS and more!

over the weekend...........

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008, 9:17 am

We do consider ourselves lucky weather wise, at least.  The storms have been all around us, but we've lucked out - at least until today.  We've already had one really big storm move through and a couple of mini power bumps.  We're hoping that we will be spared again this afternoon and evening as the storms bubbble up again.

It was a crafting weekend for me.  Lots of cards Saturday, Sunday and yesterday.  25 cards completed yesterday (although these were all from a kit) and about another 12 or so from scratch.  The fun was really in creating a couple of new stamps using some dies, fun foam, tack it over & over and a cuttlebug!  Oh, the doors that discovery has opened!  My BigKick also arrived over the long weekend with a few new dies.  More fun playing in the future, but today, I've got to buckle down and get some work done.

Wednesday's Crafting Capers

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008, 9:29 am

I'm so hoping that today's crafting time will be plentiful after a morning of conference calls and event scheduling.

The Mother's day cards have been delivered and now, it's safe to show this little goodie I cased from the CardMaker (May 2008) We made the paper using a deckle and screens and there are flower seeds embedded in the paper.  The DP is unknown and the card stock, twine and ink are SU!  eyelets from provo craft and making memories.  Oh, that Crop-o-dile was a life save - "

Wendy asked about the stamps -- ummm, I've used them all on cards, but have already shipped them out.  I will share pics of them later, though since I will be making cards all weekend since it's GROUP on Saturday and I have a feeling it will be another Marathon session - lasting up to 12 hours for a few of us die-hards.

I did have some commissioned work this week - my BIL is a coach for his son's Special Olympics team.  He wanted some thank you cards.  I created the cards using the SO logo I snagged from the internet.  Stamps from PaperTreyInk and SU.  Card stock and ink from SU - Brads from Oriental Trading"

So much fun!  Have a GREAT day!  Thanks for dropping by!

Short and Sweet

Friday, May 9th, 2008, 10:20 pm

Yep, I'm still around - it's been a bit on the BUSY-NESS side on this end.

Lots of crafting - some designing and yes, my first set of stamps have come back from the fabricator, set 2 is just about to go and set 3 is ready to put on paper!  I love the old fashioned wood mounts with handles.  We've had a lot of fun with them in our monthly card making group!

Invitations are out for the 17th; one sample card is done and a second still needs to be done.  I have a special gift for all and will post the picture and details after Mother's Day - since I also used the same card for our dds and dils.

More to come later - I'm really hoping that attempt 3 will actually post this evening.  Fingers crossed and copied to the clipboard.  LOL

Thanks for dropping by!  See you again soon

We have Video, we have Audio!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008, 9:07 am

YIPPEE!  we've finally resolved the issues with live video streaming for an upcoming day of crafting!  Now whether or not we'll be able to keep it  going for the whole day is a guess!  But it works!  YAY

New designs are on the drawing board!  I'm excited about some adaptations for Father's day gifts!  I've already had one bite on the design for the Mother's Day book!  So we'll see how that goes - as the day goes on.

Now, on to getting ready for this evening's presentation!  Have a Happy Day!  ;)
