Disneyland....here we come!!
Yes! We're off to Disneyland....AGAIN! We'll be there to celebrate John's 3rd Birthday. I know what you're thinking, and the answer is YES, we were there just 6 months ago, for Tommy's 4th Birthday. We figure, the boy's are in school yet, we better take advantage of the opportunity to go during the school year when things are less hectic!
So, our tickets arrived today....actually they didn't *officially* arrive, there's a long story that goes with this! (of course it's a long story, with me, it's always a long story!!) Well, apparently the travel service we used, sent the tickets via UPS, but a signature was required for delivery. For those of you, who know me, know I'm NEVER home! I work a few hours from home each morning, but if you miss that window of time, you'll never catch me. Tommy has school, John and I go grocery shopping, we take my grandma to appointments, whatever needs to be done is crammed into this time. Well, it just happened to be the UPS carrier made 3 attempts to deliver my envelope of dreams....our tickets to the Happiest Place on Earth!! But no luck! Monday, I received a green postcard in my mail box informing me that I need to physically pick up my tickets at the UPS office, 2 towns away (and let me tell you, it's not the most desirable town....) Well, of course I got lost, the boys and I were on an adventure and oh so hungry. I called the UPS 800 number and sweet talked to young man into having my package re-delivered just one more time. Of couse I had to promise to be home...or who knows what would happen to my tickets!
So, this morning I warned the boys we needed to stay in the house (can't hear the door bell out back). And we needed to be there to answer the door. Well, all morning, it was like Grand Central Station around here. The landscaper had a few questions for us, some guy delivering a new Yellow Pages book, and the neighbor stoping by to thank us for taking out her trash. Everyone imaginable....but no man in brown!
Time was getting close for us to leave for school. I bathed the boys got them dressed and ready to go. I wrote a little note on a sticky for the UPS driver that I'd be back in 5 minutes to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wait or come back. Well, we ran out the door, and much to my surprise.....was a UPS sticky note saying that he'd been there and left! My heart sunk, tears where starting to build up! OMG! What now?! What do I do? When all of a sudden I saw the big brown truck speeding by the cross street. "BOYS! Let's go" I screamed, we jumped in the car, get them all strapped in and we're off....I'm driving in the direction of that truck. The boys have their "Eyes peeled and their lips sealed" we are on the hunt!! I spot him....and another UPS truck on Main street! The boys squeal with excitement! They both "I Spy'd it! "LOL Then once the stop light turns green, one truck turns right....the other goes straight! Holy smokes! This is a decision of a lifetime! I go straight and follow this bad boy into a parking lot! He pulls up next to 2 other big brown trucks! What?! I jump out and stop them! And asked if any of them had been on my street!?! OOOH am I the luckiest mom in the world, or what! The truck I was following WAS the truck! YIPPEE! He handed over my tickets and told the boys "Give Mickey a high five for me!"
YIPPPEE! We're off on another Disney adventure!!
