    May is American Stroke Month

    Wednesday, May 7th, 2008, 7:17 pm

A lot can happen in 40 seconds.  A hummingbird will flap its wings 405 times; the world’s fastest sprinter will cover 400 meters; a heart will beat about 50 times; and someone in the United States will suffer a stroke.

The American Heart Association is advocating with legislators about heart disease and stroke related issues. And you can help. Through their You're the Cure program you can sign up to get Take Action alerts, so you can let your legislators know that you support action to reduce the toll of heart disease and stroke.

My Dad's life was cut short by a heart attack and I have lost a dear friend to a stroke, so these issues are important to me.

If they matter to you, too, visit You're the Cure and sign up!

Hi, I am sorry that I took almost a year to respond to your last note on my page, but I was in an abusive and very controling relationship. I was not allowed on the net, because only perverts and women hunting men are on there. I got out of it late last fall but like a dumb a$$ I went back. All was well for a long time then it started all over again. I have been out of it for about 3 weeks now. I am slowly rebuilding my life. Hope all has been well with you and yours. I am just now getting my iconnect page built. I have to remember how things are done so its hunt and peck for a while. Stop by and say hi Beverly Yankee-n-sc

Hi Becky... with all of your knowledge/experience of heart attacks & stroke, have you considered applying to hosting the Heart Health board? http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bharrhythmia?ice=ivl,se archmb
