Happy Anniversary to ME!
DH & I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary last week (that makes us old - YIKES!) and we never exchange gifts since we'd rather spend the money for the family, or things we need. So, I was SHOCKED when DH sat me down after we put DS to bed that night and he said he had a small gift for me. I really didn't know what to expect, so I waited while he went upstairs and then came back down and put something on the table in front of me (it wasn't wrapped).
It was a Willow Tree "statue"/"figurine" - not sure if you've ever seen these in Hallmark stores, or other gift shops. The one he gave me is called, "Quietly" and it is a mother sitting with a little/toddler boy standing next to her a baby on her lap. I saw it and started BAWLING. Obviously it represents me, DS and the baby-to-be we are tta after a 2+yr adoption journey. I couldn't believe how thoughtful it was and how significant it is as we work on our adoption plan ... I couldn't stop crying (happy tears). Here is a pic of the gift: ![]()
