Description: Talk to others and learn ways to help control your asthma and allergies instead of letting them control you.

End of Summer

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007, 4:56 am

Now Summer has been over for me long ago, and I'm enjoying a cooler weather...it's wetter but cooler.

Those suffering from grass and graminates allergies must be glad that Summer is over. those with asthma might not.

When living in Switzerland I used to hate the period stretching from Mid-October to Mid-march, because it's cold, very wet, you are stcuk inside where you can catch even more germs and get sicker. I knew it was time for flu shot in October, and stock-up on tissue paper as soon as November rolled around the corner.

A cold can make someone suffering from asthma feel miserable and once you catch it there is little you can do, preventive measures are best. I wash my hand often in winter (or during the monsoon for that matter) to avoid spreading and catching germs. Carry wipes in your purse if you are going to go out all day as germs love warm places and buses, schools, malls, public toilets, and movie halls are the best place to catch a big. Make sure your kids understand the importance of washing hands too as kids in school share everything including flu and cold.
