The Ripple Effect of Child Abuse

Comments

Hi, I am an older woman and an incest survivor. I have struggled my entire life with physical and emotional problems.\n\nI have had tons of therapy and with all the knowledge I have gained I wrote a book. It took me over 25 yrs. to complete lol, but I did it. I haven't been able to find a publisher or agent but I have to keep trying. I also have been peer counseling other survivors for over 18 yrs. I try to share what I have learned; and I have learned SO much more from the women I help. I have not only been let into the world of MPD/DID but have helped women who could not be help by therapists and psychiatrists. \n I feel SO honored to be trusted like this. Most of us trust very few!\nThe work has been extremely hard but so rewarding. I have wanted to open a safe house for women and children who need a temporary place to stay. I tried to find backing for my work but I was not able to succeed.\n\nI thank anyone and everyone who speak out about this pandemic of child sexual abuse. I know there are many famous women who have been through this and just wish more would come out about it.

Thank you so very much for caring about and speaking out about children who were sexually abused. I myself am a 59 yr old incest survivor. For the last 18 yrs I have been peer counseling women and girl survivors. A few men here and there also. I have written a book about my own experience with abuse, all the therapy, recovery and aftermath. It also contains several stories about some women I hav e helped.\n\nWhen I started the book (over 25 yrs ago) I NEVER had any intentions of trying to make money from it. Lo and behold, I find myself needing to do just that. I have become disabled and all of the work I have been doing with survivors has been voluntary. \n\nI have been trying to find a publisher for a few yrs now. It sure is a TOUGH sell. I had also wanted to open a safe house for abused women and children who had no safe place to go. If anyone can help with the book or help in any other way I would appreciate it more than I could ever say. There are millions and millions of us out there who need help and I intend to keep on helping for as long as I am able.\n\nAgain, thank you SO VERY MUCH for bringing the subject out of the darkness and into the LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\n\n\n\n
